Review of "My Autograph"

    <lj:music>Jab koi baat bigad jaaye.....</lj:music>

Last sunday I watched the kannada movie "My Autograph" with my family. I loved the movie. Though the movie is a remake of a tamil movie 'Autograph', I liked it because of the concept of the movie and a couple of songs from the movie. The Actor of the movie, "Sudeep", himself has directed the movie. The costumes of the characters are selected really well. Good thing about the movie is that the interest in the movie sustains till the end of the movie. The 4 actress of the movie are - Meena, Sridevika, Deepu, Rashmi Kulkarni.

Entire movie is the autograph of the actor. Its all about how these fours girls came into his life and had an impact on him. The story start like this - Sudeep is getting married and he has decided to invite all 3 girls whom he had met in his life, before meeting this forth girl.

While going to invite his first girl friend, who was from his village, he recalls his entire childhood life and that is shown up with a really good song. His first girl friend is "Deepu" whom he met in the school. After leaving school they never met again. Now Deepu is married and mother of two kids. He goes to her house and for a while couldn't recognize her. Even she is very suprised as well as excited to meet him. He invites her and leaves from that village to Kerala.

Now he is going to invite his second girl friend who is leaving in Kerala. And now recalls his life in Kerala. He would have come to Kerala for his college. Here in the college he meets a mallu girl "Sridevika", who reminds him of his first girl friend. Our hero doesn't know malayalam and heroin doesn't know kannada. This adds a bit of humour to the movie. Slowly they get close to each other. Initially when sudeep proposes her, she denies his proposal. Slowly she accepts it. The kerala backwaters are all shown very well in this context. Sridevika's parents get to know about this. They cunningly take her to the temple and get her married to their relative. On the otherside, some gundas come and hit sudeep and his parents badly. After this, sudeep is in depression due to love failure. He starts smoking and drinking. Two years of his life are wasted like this. Later he realizes that he should come out of this and start looking for a job. Now he comes to bangalore looking for a job.

On entering bangalore he meets 3-4 friends and stays with him. In this context, they have shown up how unemployed people are still struggling in bangalore. And by co-incidence, he sees this girl "Meena" singing on a stage show, where she was performing for blind people. This is one of the songs that I loved in this movie. The song is really touching. Its all about life and to never give up in life. After this, they again meet in a bus and she helps sudeep and his friend to get job in her company. After joining the company meena becomes sudeep's close friend. But they don't fall in love. They remain as good friends. This is the girl who inspires him to come up in life. This part of the movie is shown as sudeep narating to his friend in kerala on the way to meet his second girl friend.

Once he reaches his second girl friend's home, it gets to know that her husband and her parents are all dead and she is alone right now. He was not aware of all these things and she would have sent him a recoreded casette sometime back saying she is doing good and even he should forget all things that happened and move ahead in life. He is completely shocked at this point and also feels guilty to leave her in this situation and marry someone else. With this guilty feeling, he returns back to Bangalore. He explains the situation to Meena. She gives him support saying not to turn back, not to look into the past which might raise many issues. She encourages him to go ahead and marry the girl whom he has decided to marry. And the girl he has decided to marry is "Rashmi". He marries Rashmi. Both his girl friends come to the marriage and wish him good luck. The movie ends with his marriage and a statement saying "Did you feel that it was your own autograph when I was narrating mine??".

The most impressing character for me was the one played by "Meena". I was satisfied by the movie when I came out of the theatre. I felt that the movie was worth watching.

    <lj:music>Maine socha liya.... - Tumsa Nahin Dekha</lj:music>

A long story, but worth reading.

So I decided that I'd ask her to marry me.
Or ask her if she would marry me.
Or say that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her.
Or tell her I loved her, and that I wanted her to be with me forever.
Or give her a ring -- a big, huge diamond ring.
Or just get down on my knees and let my eyes say it all.

Well, I had reached a decision. What exactly I was going to do about it, I didn't know -- at least not yet.

It's now exactly one year since the first time I had started talking with her-- an anniversary of sorts. I remembered, because that first time was New Year.

And tomorrow it's New Year again.
And we had become close friends.
And I had fallen in love.

And since I am a simple-minded sort of guy, I have decided I want to marry her.

But How to tell her, though, was a bit of a problem.
There were so many ways to do it and choosing the right one wasn't easy.
And I had no idea how she'd react.

Would she think I was moving too fast?
Was it too early to suggest marriage?
Was she even interested in me in that way?

Surely, the best way to find out was to tell her how I felt, and ask her if she felt the same.
And if she did, then we could get married. Right?

These thoughts had been in my head from the moment I had woken up that morning.
And I'd only been awake a few minutes. As I finished brushing my teeth, the phone rang.

"Hello?"

"Hi!" It was her.

The sound of her cheery voice took my breath away. "Hi!" I replied, almost whispering.

"Listen," she said, sounding very excited. "I'm having a party at home tonight. Be there at eight."

"Sure," I replied.

"Ok, bye!" And she put the phone down.

I stood there for almost a minute, staring at the phone in my hand.

And then I stupidly said "Bye" to it.

I would have to reach the party early, to tell her in private.
Or should I say it right there in front of all the guests?
Or after the party, when we were cleaning up after everyone was gone?

And what was I going to get her? Should I get her anything at all?
How about flowers?
Roses? Or was that too clichéd?
Orchids sounded better.
Or bluebells.
Or tulips.
Or cauliflower.

I checked my thoughts. No. Not cauliflower.

It's New Year.
A gift was definitely in order.
I could get her that moonstone pendant she liked so much.
But then it was a little flimsy as a gift.
It was really a toy more than a piece of jewelry.
But did it matter if she really liked it?

Should I get her a book instead?
Or a CD?
Or an earring?
Or should I make her something?
I thought about my artistic skills and decided that that was probably not a good idea.

I spent so much time looking for a suitable gift all day that by the time I decided that flowers would be a better option, all the florists had closed.

And it was also too late to try to get to her house early and catch her alone.

So I decided I'd tell her after the party when everyone was gone. And that I wouldn't get her anything -- more because I couldn't, than anything else.

Feeling like a fool, and extremely nervous, I reached her doorstep.
I was on time, but there didn't seem to be any noise coming from inside.
Maybe no one had turned up yet.
After all, who came to a party on time?

I stood there and composed myself for a minute.
Then, reasonably confident that the turmoil I was going through wouldn't show, I knocked.

She opened the door, but only a fraction.
She slid out without opening the door completely, handed me a piece of cloth, and told me to tie it around my eyes. "We're playing Blind Man's Buff," she said.

Meekly, I put the blindfold on, and she led me into the house.
There was silence, and no one was making a sound.
Quite sneaky of everyone, I thought to myself.

She spun me around a little, and then made me stop.
She backed away, and then said from somewhere behind me, "Ok, you can take it off now."

Though a little confused as to what version of Blind Man's Buff was played after taking the blindfold off, I complied.

And as soon as I opened my eyes, I froze.

I was standing in the middle of her empty living room, and the lights had all been turned off.
But the room was brightly lit with dozens of candles.

And on the wall in front of me, was a big poster with the following words on it:

One year ago, this day we met.

There was an arrow pointing to the right, beside the poster.

So I turned. On the next wall were the words:

One year of friendship
One year of joy
One year of laughter
between a girl and a boy

One year of comfort
One year of closeness
One year of peace
and a whole lot of happiness

On the third wall, was:

One year or Six,
a lifetime it seems,
And yet, it feels just like yesterday

I turned to look at the fourth wall, and there, standing in front of it, was she, holding up a poster in her hands that said:

I want to be this happy forever

Will You Marry Me?

This story shows, normally how dumb and confused MEN are.

In an interview a candidate was asked the question
"Why We dont Have pointers in JAVA?", to which he replied like this:

" I married a widow who had a grown-up daughter. My father, who visited us quite often, fell in love with my step daughter and married her. Hence, my father became my son-in-law, and my step-daughter became my mother. Some months later, my wife gave birth to a son, who became the brother in law of my father as well as my uncle. "
" The wife of my father, that is my step daughter, also had a son. Thereby, i got a brother and at the same time a grandson. My wife is my grandmother, since she is my mother's mother. Hence, i am my wife's husband and at the same time her step-grandson; in other words, i am my own grandfather. "

" I guess that's why we don't have pointer in Java..."

12 Steps to a Positive Attitude

More than 100 years ago, author Robert Louis Stevenson offered the following tips for maintaining a positive attitude. They still apply today.

· Make up your mind to be happy. Learn to find pleasure in simple things.
· Make the best of your circumstances. Everyone has problems. The trick is to make laughter outweigh the tears.
· Don't take yourself too seriously. Don't think that somehow you should be protected from misfortunes that befall others.
· You can't please everybody. Don't let criticism worry you.
· Don't let your neighbor set your standards. Be yourself.
· Do the things you enjoy doing, but stay out of debt.
· Don't borrow trouble. Imaginary burdens are harder to bear than the actual ones.
· Hate poisons the soul, so don't carry grudges. Avoid people who make you unhappy.
· Have many interests. If you can't travel, read about new places.
· Don't hold post-mortems. Don't spend your life brooding over sorrows and mistakes.
· Do what you can for those less fortunate than yourself.
· Keep busy at something. A busy person never has time to be unhappy.

A man was walking down the beach at sunset. As, he walked along, he saw another man in the distance. He noticed this man kept leaning down, picking up something and throwing it out into the water, again and again. As, he approached even closer, he noticed that the man waspicking up starfish that had been washed up on the beach. He was throwing them back into the water, one by one.

Puzzled, he approached the man and said,

"Good Evening. I was wondering what you are doing."

"I'm throwing these starfish back into the ocean. You see, it's low tide and all these starfish have been washed up onto the shore. If, I don't throw them back into the ocean, they'll die up here from lack of oxygen."

"But, there must be thousands of starfish on this beach. You can't possible get to all of them. And, don't you realize this is probably happening on hundreds of beaches all up and down this coast. Can't you see that you can't possibly make a difference?"

The man bent down and picked up yet another starfish, and threw it back into the ocean. With a smile he replied, "Made a difference to that one!!!"

Just remember, no matter how small the deed it really does makes a difference.

Make a difference today.

Do something nice for someone else, and you will get pleasure.

We (Applibase team) decided to celebrate new year on 30th friday at office, as 1st was sunday. This was decided very late i.e., on 26th, when shruthi_dipali gave us a treat at corner shop for her new car. First thought we will play Secret angel game, then as we were very close to New Year, we decided against it. But we decided that we will play some group games on friday.

Serious plans about the games started on Tuesday. Some of the games on the list were : Karoake, some card games. Most of them were not interested in karaoke, so had to drop it from the list very soon. The discussion stopped here.

This is the moment when I started a secret discussion about the games with fiveonehalf. First we started looking at some group games on the net and found lot of them. Besides, these games, Preethi suggested me that we can give a surprise gift to all our colleagues by conducting lucky dip. That was a wonderful idea. The same day we went to buy gifts after office. Both of us were very excited to buy so many gifts, but at the same time it was a tough job to select so many gifts at a time. We both had a great time buying gifts.

Other than these gifts, we also bought prizes for some games. One of the group game that was decided by this time was Baloon tower. But we got one more prize for which we had not yet decided the game. We both decided to take 24hrs time and decide on the game. Next day, I suggested that we can conduct Ek Minute competition and it will be real fun. We took 2 days to decide all the games that we wanted to include in Ek Minute and were very eagerly waiting for the day.

To know more about the day, read here.

Dark clouds gathered in the sky and nature was in its ominous best. I took a break from my work and went to the pantry to grab a cup of coffee. I had a sip and went near the window to see the rain pouring down heavily outside the glass structure. I was inside our huge office building, unruffled by even the fierceness of the nature. Through the heavy transparent glass, I could see a small girl trying to hold on to her umbrella which the wind was snatching away from her. I felt sorry for the girl, and was happy that I was not in a similar pathetic situation...Read On...
